  • Three-dimensional inversion techniques are utilized to refine exploration site delineation.

Antares Metals (ASX:AM5) operates within the mining sector in Queensland. The company recently completed comprehensive geophysical surveys at its Conglomerate Creek prospect near Mt Isa. This work takes place within a broader exploration project that spans a vast landholding, which has experienced limited modern fieldwork aside from historical efforts conducted decades ago. Early field records include brief exploration periods that recorded significant copper intersections at the historic Surprise mine.

Geophysical Survey Methods
During the latest phase of field operations, advanced magnetic surveys were performed using high-definition drone technology. Simultaneously, ground gravity surveys were conducted on an offset grid. These techniques have produced detailed datasets that capture variations in the subsurface. Geophysical consultants from Terra Resources have been instrumental in processing the survey data, which has now been transformed using three-dimensional inversion processes. This methodological approach is enhancing the understanding of the subsurface features across the extensive exploration area.

Magnetic Survey Observations
Results from the magnetic survey reveal that the area is primarily covered by meta-basalts. A distinct low-magnetic zone has been recorded, encircled by structural corridors that exhibit varied magnetic properties. Isolated magnetic anomalies are observed within the broader low zone. The spatial distribution of these features aligns with the presence of structural corridors, which may be associated with variations in lithology. Such findings provide a refined depiction of the subsurface configuration and are being carefully examined as part of the exploration program.

Gravity Survey Observations
In parallel, the ground gravity survey delineated a gravity-low region that corresponds with the magnetic low area. The congruence between the gravity data and the magnetic observations reinforces the delineation of structural corridors and isolated anomalous zones. These gravity characteristics contribute additional dimensions to the subsurface interpretation and help in characterizing the geological environment at Conglomerate Creek.

Future Drilling Program Preparations
Current work involves further refinement of the three-dimensional inversion outputs, which is central to outlining exploration site boundaries. The enhanced interpretation from both magnetic and gravity surveys is feeding into the planning stages for an upcoming drilling program. The detailed geophysical dataset will inform the selection of drill sites within the exploration area, aiming to further document the complex subsurface structures.
