Highlights:
- Perpetual Resources identifies a fourth pegmatite trend at Isabella, expanding the mineralized area.
- The newly discovered trend is in close proximity to previously found spodumene-rich pegmatites.
- Exploration activities are progressing towards a drilling start in early 2025.
Perpetual Resources (ASX:PEC) has recently made a significant discovery at its Isabella project, located in Brazil's 'Lithium Valley.' The company has identified a fourth pegmatite trend, which contributes to the growth of the mineralized area. This new trend is parallel to previously uncovered spodumene-rich pegmatites, which have displayed lithium oxide grades that have reached notable levels.
Mineralized Corridors Expanding
With this discovery, Perpetual Resources has now mapped out four distinct mineralized corridors at Isabella. These corridors extend over a kilometer and could reach even greater lengths based on field data interpretations. The presence of lithium-bearing minerals, along with additional minerals such as elbaite, cleavelandite, feldspar, and quartz, has been confirmed in the region. This development adds another layer to Isabella's mineralization, pointing to the presence of multiple stacked pegmatites in the area.
Proximity to Other Significant Lithium Projects
Isabella is strategically located near several important lithium projects, including Atlas Lithium’s Neves mine and Sigma Lithium's São José project. This geographic positioning reinforces Isabella's relevance in Brazil's burgeoning lithium industry.
Geological Mapping and Fieldwork
Refined structural mapping at Isabella has revealed up to 800 meters of high-confidence spodumene-pegmatite trends. Over thirty artisanal excavations have been recorded, with significant underground workings observed in the region. Perpetual Resources' team is now focused on follow-up reconnaissance efforts, which include targeted rock chipping, geological mapping, and consultations with local communities to ensure responsible exploration practices.
Future Drilling Program
Perpetual Resources plans to finalize its drill target consolidation and prepare for an extensive drilling campaign in early 2025. Rock chip assay results from the recently discovered Trend Four are expected to be released by late February, which may provide further insights into the mineralization along this new trend. With the necessary drilling approvals secured, Perpetual Resources aims to initiate its first drilling program in the first half of 2025, marking an important step in advancing the Isabella project.
