Highlights:
- Mining approvals secured for the Fish underground project, paving the way for ore production in the upcoming months.
- Multiple ore sources set to support operations under the agreement with Genesis Minerals.
- Exploration and feasibility studies continue to shape future resource development.
Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has received key regulatory approvals to advance mining activities at the Fish underground project. Located in Western Australia's Laverton region, the project will enhance ore supply to the Laverton mill under an agreement with Genesis Minerals. Recent approvals from the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety include the Mining Proposal, Mine Closure Plan, and Mining Operations Notice, allowing the company to move ahead with its development schedule.
Portal construction is scheduled to begin in the coming months, with initial ore production expected shortly after. Infrastructure development is progressing, with a newly built site camp, earthworks, and road access completed. Additional installations such as offices, workshops, and a power station are also in progress to support mining operations.
Expanding Ore Supply for Processing
Brightstar Resources is preparing to deliver ore from multiple sites, including material sourced from Lord Byron stockpiles and high-grade deposits at Second Fortune. These sources will feed into the existing agreement with Genesis Minerals, which allows for ore processing at the Laverton Mill. By integrating supply from various deposits, the company aims to optimize production efficiency.
Ongoing work at the Second Fortune underground mine includes mobilizing equipment and workforce preparation to support operations at Fish. The company is leveraging its operational expertise from existing projects to streamline development and production schedules.
Exploration and Resource Development
The Fish underground project, part of the broader Jasper Hills initiative, remains a focal point for exploration. Previous drilling campaigns have identified high-grade mineralization, prompting further evaluation of deeper resource extensions. Additional exploration is planned to refine geological interpretations and assess the potential for long-term resource development.
Alongside mining activities, Brightstar Resources is progressing with a definitive feasibility study for its larger Laverton-Menzies development. The study will support future expansion plans, including refurbishment initiatives at the company's processing facility near Laverton. These strategic efforts are focused on increasing operational efficiency and optimizing resource utilization across multiple sites.
This next phase of exploration and development reinforces Brightstar Resources’ ongoing commitment to expanding its production capabilities while continuing to assess further growth opportunities within its gold portfolio.
