Highlights:
- Artemis Resources initiates extensive drilling campaign at Karratha project, targeting multiple gold sites.
- The company focuses on expanding the 374,000oz Carlow resource with diamond and RC drilling.
- Potential new projects are under consideration, including a large IOCG mineralisation intrusion in Pilbara.
Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) has embarked on an ambitious drilling campaign across its Karratha project located in the northern Pilbara. The company aims to explore several untested gold targets, with a particular focus on expanding the Carlow deposit, which currently comprises 374,000 ounces of gold and 64,000 tonnes of copper.
The drilling operations cover a 4km-long area centered around the Carlow resource. This strategy is based on the hypothesis that multiple gold-bearing deposits might encircle Carlow, positioned within highly prospective structures that have not yet been drilled.
The company has expressed enthusiasm about the potential discoveries each target may yield. Significant attention will be focused on the Marillion EM conductor, located 500 meters east of Carlow, along with testing areas that could extend the existing resource. Additionally, the Titan prospect, found 2km northwest of Carlow, will undergo exploration due to exciting high-grade gold occurrences found within selected sampling of quartz veins and chert outcrops.
Further exploratory drilling will assess new zones with promising structural and geophysical indicators at the Europa and Thorpe targets, to the project's west and south, respectively.
The broader northern Pilbara gold province has already captured attention due to De Grey’s Hemi discovery and Northern Star Resources’ substantial acquisition in the area. Former consultant and now managing director, Julian Hanna, has brought focus to the potential within this region, acknowledging the presence of long-supporting shareholders and a dedicated technical team.
Beyond current projects, Artemis is actively seeking additional opportunities, exemplified by the application for a 340 square kilometer exploration license over a large interpreted intrusion. This prospect is believed to warrant investigation for its potential association with IOCG mineralisation, marking another step in Artemis Resources’ strategic pursuits.
