Highlights

  • Successful completion of first-phase drilling at new gold targets in Pilbara.
  • Encouraging preliminary findings indicate significant mineral potential.
  • Ongoing studies to assess wider potential in this geologically rich area.

Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) has successfully concluded its initial drilling program at three previously unexplored gold targets near its Carlow deposit in Western Australia's Pilbara region. This milestone represents a strategic move in the exploration of this mineral-rich province, which is home to notable deposits like the Hemi.

The recent campaign consisted of five diamond holes totaling 1,790 meters, aimed at three significant prospects: the Titan gold prospect, the Marillion electromagnetic target, and the potential extensions to Carlow. Geophysical data guided the first drilling efforts across a regional structure at Titan, revealing promising zones of hydrothermal alteration and veining. The geological composition suggests deeper potential for valuable minerals, enhancing the prospects for further discoveries.

Managing Director Julian Hanna expressed satisfaction with the initial outcomes at the Titan site, where high-grade surface gold occurrences were identified in samples collected in 2024. While assay results are pending, these early observations are bolstered by the presence of alteration, quartz veining, and brecciation. Concurrent drilling efforts at Marillion and Carlow revealed notable occurrences of pyrrhotite with visible chalcopyrite sulphide, suggesting significant mineralization potential.

The initial phase of drilling not only promises resource expansion but also offers new insights into the area's geological and structural dynamics. The proximity to other major geological structures adds to the strategic importance of these findings. Numerous samples collected from the drilling are currently undergoing assays, with results anticipated soon, offering further clarity and understanding of the project's potential.

The Carlow deposit, with its storied past as one of Pilbara’s oldest known copper deposits, emerges as a focal point for modern geological exploration. Under the guidance of Julian Hanna, Artemis Resources has resurrected interest in this region, previously overlooked despite its potential proximity to Karratha, a mining hub.

Artemis Resources is poised for a transformative phase as it continues to unlock the mineral potential in the Pilbara. The promising results from the recent drilling campaign establish a strong foundation for further exploration and potential development in one of Australia's most promising mining regions.
