Highlights

  • Halleck Creek ore can be upgraded 10 times using a simple beneficiation process.
  • 5% of non-rare earth material can be removed early, lowering processing costs.
  • Updated scoping study to reflect JORC resource increase and project advancements.

American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR) has reached a significant metallurgical milestone at its Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project, confirming that ore from the site can be efficiently upgraded at a ratio of 10 to 1 using a straightforward beneficiation process. This achievement enhances the project's economic outlook and strengthens confidence in its development potential.

Enhanced Processing Efficiency

The company has demonstrated that 93.5% of non-rare earth material can be removed in the early stages of processing. As a result, only 6.5% of mined ore will require further refining, significantly reducing operational costs. This development aligns with the scoping study assumptions and plays a crucial role in de-risking the project's economic feasibility.

Recent testing conducted by Mineral Technologies successfully upgraded the mineralized feedstock from 3,438 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO) to approximately 37,200 ppm TREO. The use of commercially proven processing methods ensures scalability, making this upgrade highly promising for future large-scale production.

Updated Scoping Study and Pre-Feasibility Progress

Following these results, an updated scoping study will soon be released, incorporating a recently announced JORC resource increase. The results further validate earlier studies, reinforcing expectations that the Halleck Creek project can be developed efficiently using conventional, cost-effective processing techniques.

With the successful large-scale test work supporting the 10x upgrade assumption, American Rare Earths is now focusing on further optimizing processing efficiency. Additional metallurgical and hydrometallurgical testing is underway to refine the project’s flowsheet, aiming to streamline operations and enhance rare earth recoveries.

Advancing Toward Development

The company continues to progress toward the pre-feasibility study, which will provide deeper insights into project economics, processing advancements, and overall feasibility. The ongoing optimization efforts seek to lower costs and improve recoveries, ensuring a competitive position in the rare earths market.

With rare earth elements playing a vital role in the global technology and energy sectors, the advancements at Halleck Creek place American Rare Earths in a strong position to meet the growing demand. The upcoming study updates and ongoing metallurgical improvements will further define the project's commercial potential and long-term viability.
