SHAPE Australia (ASX:SHA) has released its Half-Year FY25 financial results, showcasing impressive growth across key financial and operational metrics. The company reported a 15% revenue increase to $479.0 million compared to the previous period. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 21% to $14.8 million, while Net Profit After Tax (NPAT) surged 26% to $9.4 million. Shareholders also saw benefits, with earnings per share (EPS) at 11.4 cents and a dividend per share of 10 cents, reflecting a 25% rise.
Project Wins and Strong Backlog
SHAPE Australia secured new project wins worth $531.5 million, reflecting a slight 1% increase from the previous period. The company’s backlog grew by 13% to $516 million, indicating sustained demand for its services. The identified project pipeline remains strong at $3.4 billion, though slightly lower by 5%.
Sectoral and Geographic Expansion Driving Growth
Revenue from non-office sectors surged by 20%, supported by major gains in healthcare projects, which grew by 134%. The defence sector also rebounded, with project wins of $40.5 million, signaling recovery from a prior slowdown. Additionally, revenue from new builds saw a 248% increase, as SHAPE Australia continues investing in modular construction, despite some project withdrawals.
The company made notable strides in regional expansion, reporting a 236% revenue increase in regional operations. The Gold Coast market stood out, with a 186% revenue growth, prompting SHAPE Australia to establish a permanent office in Tasmania. Plans are also in place to expand with new office locations in Gold Coast and Newcastle, further solidifying its footprint.
Operational Excellence and Sustainability Commitment
SHAPE Australia continued prioritizing safety, reducing its Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) to 1.2 and maintaining a Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) of 7.3, both outperforming industry averages. Workforce expansion also remained a focus, with a 6% employee increase to 645 and a strong Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +88 reflecting employee and client satisfaction.
On the sustainability front, the company offset 2,297 tonnes of CO2 emissions in FY24 and maintained its Carbon Neutral status. The use of Green Energy providers increased to 77%, and two Green Star projects were completed, awaiting certification.
Liquidity Strength Supports Future Growth
With strong cash management practices, SHAPE Australia ended the period with $118.9 million in cash and marketable securities, up 21% from the previous year. This robust liquidity position provides strategic flexibility to capitalize on future opportunities.
