  • Agreement covers design, maintenance, and upgrades of digital assets across Australia.

Ventia (ASX:VNT) has entered into a significant five-year strategic agreement with Telstra (ASX:TLS), marking a major development in digital infrastructure services across Australia. The partnership, expected to generate over $400 million annually for Ventia, represents a total value exceeding $2 billion throughout the contract period.

Under this comprehensive agreement, Ventia will take on the responsibility of managing Telstra's digital infrastructure lifecycle and fixed network services. This will include designing, constructing, and maintaining key digital assets critical to Telstra’s operations. Among these responsibilities are large-scale asset relocations, commercial works, and supporting the development of essential network components, such as wideband, optical fibre, IP networks, and wireless systems.

Dean Banks, Ventia’s Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the continuation and expansion of their collaboration. Ventia has been a trusted partner of Telstra for nearly three decades, and this agreement further strengthens their commitment to supporting Telstra’s strategic goals.

In addition to routine maintenance and design responsibilities, Ventia’s role extends to supporting critical infrastructure projects, ensuring Telstra’s network systems remain at the forefront of innovation. This includes providing solutions for data network upgrades and optimizing system efficiency to meet Australia’s increasing demand for digital connectivity.

The agreement will officially commence in early 2025, following the expiration of current contracts in late December 2024. As a longstanding contributor to Telstra’s infrastructure initiatives, Ventia’s expertise is expected to enhance Telstra’s capability to deliver robust and future-ready digital networks.

This contract highlights the growing demand for advanced digital infrastructure services in Australia and reflects the importance of partnerships in achieving national connectivity goals. The long-term collaboration between Ventia and Telstra underscores the value of integrating technical expertise and innovative solutions to maintain and expand a high-performing telecommunications network.

The deal positions Ventia as a critical player in the Australian digital infrastructure landscape, reinforcing its status as a reliable service provider while contributing to Telstra’s mission of delivering superior connectivity and technological advancements.
