Highlights
- Consistent high-grade gold intercepts reported.
- Exploration footprint expands at Northern Zone.
- Further assays pending from additional drilling.
Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL) has reported encouraging new assay results from its Northern Zone Intrusive Hosted Gold Project, part of the broader Kalgoorlie East Gold Project in Western Australia. The latest data reinforces confidence in the project's potential, showcasing significant shallow gold intercepts and continued mineralisation expansion.
The company recently completed an 11-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign, with the final four angled holes returning strong results. All 11 holes intersected gold mineralisation, providing a clear signal of a large mineralised halo enveloping the porphyry host. These findings strengthen the continuity and scale of the gold-bearing zone within the Northern Zone target.
Among the most notable results are:
- 18 metres at 1.94 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 49 metres depth, including a higher-grade zone of 3 metres at 8.20 g/t from 60 metres;
- 11 metres at 1.38 g/t gold from 80 metres; and
- 14 metres at 0.72 g/t from 41 metres, including 3 metres at 2.60 g/t from 52 metres.
The presence of consistent shallow mineralisation suggests the deposit has strong potential for further expansion. According to company statements, the gold tenor remains impressive near the top of the porphyry, adding confidence to the deposit’s scalability and geological consistency.
In addition to the recent drilling, Riversgold (ASX:RGL) is awaiting assay results from 1,303 samples collected during a 1,805-metre vertical RC program. This program targeted oxide mineralisation zones and is expected to provide further insight into the project's upper layers.
Once the pending assay data is received, it will be integrated into an updated Leapfrog 3D geological model. This refined model will play a key role in shaping future exploration plans and guiding the path toward a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
Riversgold also continues to progress exploration at its early-stage discovery in New Brunswick, which features gold, copper, silver, and antimony targets. However, the immediate focus remains on the Kalgoorlie East’s Northern Zone, where momentum is building through consistent drill success and an expanding geological dataset.
The strategic positioning of the project near the world-renowned Kalgoorlie “Super Pit” further elevates its significance within Western Australia’s prolific goldfields. As exploration unfolds, ongoing updates are anticipated to track the growth of this emerging gold system.
