SRJ Technologies (ASX:SRJ) has taken a major stride in expanding its global footprint, with its UK-based subsidiary, Air Control Entech (ACE), securing a $1.45 million inspection and monitoring contract in the North Sea. The agreement comes on the back of strong technological demonstrations and represents a significant milestone in SRJ’s journey toward becoming a key player in remote inspection and asset integrity services.
ACE, acquired by SRJ in mid-2024 for $8.6 million, specializes in cutting-edge inspection and emissions monitoring solutions for the energy sector. This newly signed contract will see ACE deliver scheduled monthly services along with potential revenue upside through ad hoc call-offs over the course of the engagement. The unnamed global energy supermajor selected ACE after witnessing the performance of its proprietary ‘ACE365’ model.
The ACE365 model deploys equipment directly to offshore assets for the duration of the contract and dispatches personnel only when specific scopes of work are needed. This approach not only improves safety by limiting human exposure in high-risk environments but also reduces operational expenditure significantly—a key concern in today’s cost-conscious energy industry.
Following successful emissions monitoring demonstrations throughout 2024, ACE has also earned ‘Super-User’ status from the client, marking a strong vote of confidence in its capabilities. The client subsequently included emissions monitoring as a standard part of its FY25 work scopes.
ACE managing director Marc Whitton emphasized the company’s position as a forward-thinking solutions provider: “ACE stands out for offering not only safer and higher-quality inspection technologies but also more cost-effective alternatives that redefine industry standards.”
SRJ’s acquisition of ACE has clearly bolstered its technical portfolio, particularly in remote inspections using drones, ROVs, and crawler systems. This strategic alignment enhances SRJ’s ability to meet growing global demand for safer, smarter, and more efficient maintenance and monitoring solutions across critical infrastructure.
In leadership news, SRJ has named Kurt Reeves as its new chief executive officer and executive director, effective 15 May 2025. With over 22 years of experience in the energy and asset integrity sectors—including senior roles at Petrofac and Probus Engineering and Construction—Mr Reeves is poised to lead SRJ’s regional expansion from Abu Dhabi, leveraging his deep-rooted connections and operational knowledge in the Middle East.
The contract and executive appointment signal a pivotal moment for SRJ (SRJ) as it continues to scale internationally and solidify its standing in a competitive market.
