- Preparatory steps ensure smooth operations.
Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BEE) has restarted drilling operations in the renowned SWISH Play acreage within Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin. The latest milestone comes with the successful spudding of the Bruins 2-11-1S-3W WXH1 well, marking the ninth well drilled in the region. This achievement follows a robust four-well FMDP program completed late last year, reflecting a strategic commitment to operational excellence in a highly prolific area.
Significant preparatory work has paved the way for this new phase. An all-weather pad was constructed to ensure continuous access regardless of seasonal challenges. Meticulous groundwork involved staking the Bruins Well and securing the 20-inch conductor through precise setting and cementing procedures. These foundational steps have been critical in creating a stable environment for advanced drilling operations.
Field offices and accommodation trailers were swiftly mobilized, establishing a dedicated base for on-site activities. With Kenai Rig 19 now in position, comprehensive rig-up and testing operations commenced. The emphasis has been on ensuring that all safety measures and equipment—such as the blowout prevention system—are fully operational before moving deeper into the drilling process. Testing of the surface casing is underway concurrently with drilling to the designated surface casing point, reinforcing the commitment to thorough operational protocols.
Operational leadership has acknowledged the outstanding performance of the entire team and the contractors involved. The crew, including the specialists operating Kenai Rig 19, has delivered exceptional work, especially under challenging conditions brought on by recent extreme cold weather. Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition from preparatory activities to full-scale drilling operations.
Looking ahead, the next series of procedures will involve retrieving the bottom hole assembly and tripping into the well to drill out the surface casing. The subsequent phase will see the commencement of drilling the 12.25-inch vertical section of the wellbore—a crucial step toward reaching the targeted reservoir zone.
As drilling operations continue, further updates are expected to detail the progress and technical achievements. This phase not only reinforces Brookside Energy Ltd’s commitment to unlocking the potential of the SWISH Play acreage but also highlights the company’s strategic approach to expanding exploration efforts in one of Oklahoma’s most promising energy basins.
