Australia-focused minerals exploration company Shree Minerals Limited (ASX:SHH) has shared an exploration update for its Rock Lodge project in the Lachlan Fold Belt.

In the announcement, the diversified mineral exploration company announced the completion of an RC drilling campaign at the exploration tenement in NSW. In February 2022, Shree had shared its plan to undertake a 15-hole RC drilling program at the Rock Lodge tenement, which is prospective for orogenic, Intrusion-Related Gold Systems (IRGS) and skarn-related gold mineralisation.

Intrusion-Related Gold System style of mineralisation

The mineralisation at the Rock Lodge prospect is interpreted to have the IRGS style of mineralisation. Associated with an intrusion, Shree believes that there is a huge potential for bulk tonnage gold mineralisation at depth.

With bulk tonnage potential, multiple veins at the prospect represent the upper zone of a mineralised system above an intrusive body at depth.

Shree’s next plan

Shree’s Rock Lodge Project contains a folded sequence of Ordovician aged Adaminaby Group shales/siltstones and Gungoandra Siltstones. Historical workings at Bobundara returned decent production results with a 21 g/t Au grade.

Presently, Shree intends to undertake additional sampling and mapping at Bobundara, including soil and rock chip sampling along the strike of the main workings.
