Need to support indigenous businesses

EarlyBirds highlighted an article published by the National Indigenous Times that talks about the vital role of Australia’s Indigenous population in the history and culture of the country. However, a lot needs to be done to bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

EarlyBirds further states that it is important to support indigenous businesses to tackle various challenges to success, especially businesses that are in the early stages.

On this front, the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) was launched in 2015, which created the demand for Indigenous business at a level that didn’t exist earlier. The emergence of this game-changing government policy was supported by the corporate community and was the outcome of several individuals and businesses supporting Indigenous businesses over a long period of time.
