Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd has announced a collaboration with Soneium, Sony Block Solutions Labs’ Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain, to advance digital identity solutions and anime-based experiences through blockchain technology.
Moca Network, the digital identity division of Animoca Brands, will integrate its Account, Identity, and Reputation SDK (AIR SDK) into the Soneium blockchain. This implementation will enable users to maintain decentralised identities and credentials while navigating blockchain applications.
Integration of Anime ID into Soneium
As part of this initiative, Anime ID, a decentralised identifier (DID) and reputation system developed by San FranTokyo, will be the first identity solution introduced on the platform. This system, supported by the Anime Foundation, is designed to facilitate enhanced engagement across anime-centric digital environments.
With Anime ID in place, Soneium users will benefit from an interconnected and secure identity layer, improving interactions within anime-inspired blockchain applications.
Expanding Anime-Focused Engagement
San FranTokyo is also set to roll out anime-themed digital campaigns on Soneium. These initiatives aim to attract anime enthusiasts globally, integrating them into Sony’s blockchain ecosystem and fostering a deeper connection within the community.
Soneium has been developed as a joint effort between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Group. It leverages Optimism’s Superchain technology, offering a scalable and accessible blockchain framework for developers, creators, and users worldwide.
Building a Decentralised Ecosystem
The collaboration highlights the convergence of blockchain technology, entertainment, and identity infrastructure. Both companies seek to establish a strong foundation for decentralised digital identities while enhancing engagement in cultural content through blockchain applications.
Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chair Yat Siu commented on the partnership, noting that integrating Moca Network’s identity technology is a step toward an interconnected digital ecosystem.
By combining Animoca’s expertise in digital identity with Soneium’s blockchain capabilities, the collaboration aims to drive innovation in Web3 entertainment and interactive experiences.
