Viking Mines Limited (ASX:VKA) has completed an auger soil sampling program at its Canegrass and Narndee Projects, located in Western Australia. The sampling campaign included 415 auger holes drilled on a 400m x 50m grid covering a 7km strike at Narndee and 250 auger holes on a 200m x 50m grid covering a 1.8km strike at Canegrass.
The sampled areas were selected due to the presence of regional structures, lack of previous gold sampling, and reports of gold nugget discoveries by prospectors at Narndee.
Viking has no additional data on the nuggets beyond the location, quantity, and weight, the data reported by the prospectors to the Western Australia's Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
Next Steps and Exploration Plans
The collected samples will now undergo gold and multi-element analysis, with results anticipated by the end of March 2025. The next phase of exploration will be dependent on the results of auger sampling program.
Viking’s primary focus is on the development of the Canegrass Vanadium Project and the First Hit Project with these additional gold exploration efforts running in parallel.
