Highlights:
- Tempest Minerals Ltd has completed a diamond drilling program at its Master target, Meleya Project.
- Sulphides and strong alteration have been intercepted in Hole WARDH74, with a confirmed mineralised strike over 20km to date.
- At the Clover target, additional aircore and RC drill programs to commence October.
Australia based mineral exploration company Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX: TEM) has completed the diamond drilling program of 1 hole (WARDH74) for 427.1m at the Master target, which is part of the Meleya Project. Minor sulphides and strong alteration have been encountered throughout the drillhole.
The Clover target will soon see a combined drilling program targeting nearly 4,500m, where the diamond rig will now be joined by an RC rig for a focused drill.
Meleya Project: Orion, Master, and Clover targets in a nutshell
The Meleya Project is part of the company’s flagship Yalgoo Portfolio, which extends over a footprint exceeding 900km2. Tempest Minerals is of the view that the target zones at Meleya Project represent some of the most exciting (vis-a-vis today’s industry) greenfield base and precious metal upside opportunities.

1. Orion Target: Revisiting the drilling results
In March 2022, TEM started state government co-funded (EIS) drilling of the first 2 drill holes in the Orion Target to gain stratigraphic controls over the novel geological province. Both drill holes, totalling around 1,730.5 meters, encountered many zones of visual mineralisation. As per the company, this discovery speaks volumes of the immense potential for a major discovery within its projects.
Further, this program revealed across multiple geologic settings the presence of various mineralisation styles, which are currently thought to be consistent with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and intrusion-related mineral systems.
2. Master Target: What diamond drilling results revealed
In the month of September, Tempest Minerals made an announcement regarding the commencement of drilling at the Master prospect - a target that was identified by means of a geochemical and geophysical anomaly. New innovative geophysical surveys performed by the company also supported the same.
The Master target’s geology is understood as being a continuation of the Meleya greenstone belt, which stretches from the project’s north-west, via the recently discovered mineralised Orion target, to the south and east.
Drilling intersected 40 meters of cover and lateritic clay horizons with sand and gravel lenses. This was succeeded by recurrent sequences of greenstones sequestered by the emplacing intermediate intrusives.

Throughout the hole, intermittent minor sulphides in bleb and veinlet style were intersected, generally related to contained intermittent potassium feldspar–epidote alteration. Many zones were silica flooded related to shear zones and have gold mineralisation potential as well.
3. Clover target to deploy both diamond and RC rigs
To test the Clover target, both diamond and RC rigs will be put in place. This is because a combined drilling programme (RC rig + diamond rig) of 4,500 meters is in the cards for the Clover target to make the best of both rigs. Data acquisition and assessment and fieldwork, which includes soil sampling, are ongoing.
