Founded almost two decades ago, Skin Elements Limited (ASX: SKN) is an ASX-listed formulation company focused on developing chemical-free alternatives to chemical-led industries. By focusing on the research and development, rather than instant profits, the company has created its SE FormulaTM, which is the main ingredient of its products.
Currently, the five brands developed by SKN targets three industries - medical, cosmetics and agriculture/hygiene. All five brands are at different phases of commercialisation process, with Soléo Organics at the forefront of the process.
The article will focus on the industries that are targeted by SKN natural products.
Cosmetic industry
Soléo Organics and Elizabeth Jane are two SKN brands which fall under the category of cosmetic industry.
- Soléo Organics – This brand of the company is a natural and organic sunscreen formulations. This sunscreen was the first chemical-free sunscreen and uses zinc oxide as an active ingredient. Currently, the product is in the distribution phase with the finalisation of the regulatory approvals and test marketing phase. The company is presently in talks with large-scale distributors in the UK and is finalising plans for massive distribution agreements across the globe.
- Elizabeth Jane – Elizabeth Jane Natural Cosmetics has been developed to provide natural anti-aging, beautifying cosmetics. The product is targeted towards the higher end of the market. The product has been developed for all types of skin. This natural product is presently in the certification stage. The products under this brand have undergone testing and checks in the UK and the Europe.
Medical industry
SKN’s PapayaActivs falls under the medical industry. PapayaActivs is the first non-steroidal therapeutic cream which contains up to 60% pawpaw extract. PapayaActivs includes cosmetic and therapeutic range of products. The therapeutic range of products is effective in common conditions, such as arthritis, rashes, dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. The company highlights that this cream is suitable for the most sensitive skin as well. While the cosmetic range of products are focused on soaps, haircare, skincare, and generalised skin treatments.
The products of PapayaActivs are in test marketing phase. The company is releasing its product for test marketing in stages with specific groups of products released at different times. The test marketing is happening in Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Europe.
Agriculture/ Hygiene
ECO Nurture is developed for the agriculture industry, while SuprCuvr is developed for the Hygiene industry.
- SuprCuvr – It is a disinfectant which was created as a response to COVID-19. The company claims that it is 1000x more effective than traditional disinfectants against COVID-19. The product has become a part of the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. Moreover, independent testing showed that the product has no irritation on skin and rinse free on food surfaces. Moreover, the product has received certification from NASAA Certified Organic. It is in test marketing stage, and MPI and EPA registrations are in progress.
- ECO Nurture – This product aims at revolutionising the New Zealand’s agriculture industry. Presently, the product is going through trials and is under the certification phase, it is being certified for use as the first natural solution and a solution that does not lave a build up of heavy metals in the soil.
