Highlights
- Exploration work is targeting new potential areas of lithium hard rock mineralisation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
- The company had identified and sampled numerous pegmatites at the Western Shaw leases.
- Across its 100%-owned four large projects, QXR is conducting rock chip sampling over outcropping pegmatites.
QX Resources Limited (ASX: QXR) has shared that exploration activities to identify new lithium hard rock mineralisation in the Pilbara region of Western Australia are underway.
QXR highlighted that the Pilbara region has been reaffirmed as the prime location for hard rock lithium discoveries across the world.
More
Currently, the company is progressing with exploration activities across its four projects in the Pilbara region - Split Rock (E46/1367), Western Shaw (E45/6107, E45/4960), Turner River and Yule River leases (E45/6159).
QXR shared that numerous pegmatites were located and sampled at the west and south of the Western Shaw leases. In the southern section, the pegmatites appeared more abundant and larger. The mobile XRF analysis returned positive results at multiple pegmatites.
The company is also engaged in surface rock chip sampling and mapping across outcropping pegmatites. The prime target is the contact zone between greenstones and granitoids.
At the Turner River project, QXR has planned to conduct extensive high resolution airborne geophysics over the coming two weeks. The project has an identified substantial lithium mineralisation halo. The data generated from the airborne geophysics will be combined with spectral image analysis and district scale geophysics analysis to distinguish favourable areas around pegmatites.
After receiving confirmation on initial sample results, the company intends to undertake extensive sampling and trenching on new areas of interest.
