Highlights:
- Musgrave Minerals has reported further high-grade gold intersections at the West Island prospect.
- The assays are from diamond drilling performed within a basement dolerite host unit.
- Drilling is ongoing on the joint venture.
- Two diamond rigs and one aircore rig on site.
- Evolution is the operator managing the drilling programs.
Musgrave Minerals Limited (ASX:MGV) , an Australian-based gold and base metal explorer, has reported assay results from diamond and aircore drilling programs at the West Island prospect. Evolution Mining, the operator of the JV, completed the diamond drilling program, which yet again intersected high-grade gold within a basement dolerite host unit.
The 1.6km-long prospect sits within a broad regional 7km-long anomalous gold corridor in Western Australia.
Located in the Murchison district, the corridor is part of the Musgrave - Evolution Cue Joint Venture (Musgrave earning 25%).

Lake Austin diamond drilling program
The diamond drilling program has already covered nine holes for a cumulative of 4,699m. The campaign, designed to determine the scale of the mineral system at the prospect, targeted the key mineralised gold lodes.
These mineralised gold lodes are interpreted as a series of stacked shears and veins with associated high-grade splays. The company is continuing the drilling program, and further results are expected to study the potential for these lodes.
A few of the significate intercepts from the new diamond drill core are shown below:

Lake Austin Aircore drilling program
Along with the diamond drilling program, Evolution is also associated with the aircore drilling program, comprising 117 aircore drill holes for ~14,191m. The program intersected favourable host dolerite unit along the strike from the prospect with anomalous gold results in several new areas to the north.
A few of the most significant new aircore results are shown below:
- Drill Hole ID: 22CUAC0226 (gold mineralisation in regolith)
2m @ 1.66g/t gold from 178m to the end of the hole in weathered dolerite
- Drill Hole ID: 22CUAC0245 (gold mineralisation in regolith)
4m @ 5.12g/t gold from 172m in coarse gravels (quartz and altered dolerite pebbles) at the base of transported cover

What lies ahead?
Evolutionis advancing the ongoing drilling campaigns with one aircore and two diamond rigs currently on the project location.
As part of the regional-scale aircore drilling, Musgrave expects to continue to delineate new regolith gold anomalies within areas that have not witnessed drilling in the past. Additionally, diamond drilling is continuing with an ongoing focus on the West Island prospect to test Lake Austin's basement beneath regolith gold mineralisation.
