Lithium Universe (ASX: LU7) strengthens ‘Lithium Dream Team’ with crucial additions

Lithium Universe Limited (ASX: LU7) has appointed prominent professionals of the lithium industry to its management team to carry forward the journey towards development of the Québec Lithium Processing Hub (QLPH) in Canada.

Head of Mining - Terry Stark
The company has welcomed Mr Terry Stark onboard as the Head of Mining for the Apollo First to Market program to steer ahead the mining strategy. The veteran mining engineer has previously served as the Managing Director at Galaxy Resources Limited (GXY) for its Resources Division.

During his tenure at GXY, Terry spearheaded all the work related to its mineral resources assets, such as mine operations and exploration. He supervised the construction work at Mt Cattlin as well as subsequent start-up.  

Roger Pover as Head of Processing
LU7 has appointed Mr Roger Pover to the post of Head of Processing for the Apollo First to Market program to command the concentrating and processing strategy.

Roger formerly worked as Mt Cattlin Plant Manager for GXY. He contributed as a member of the commissioning as well as start-up team, and operated the plant for several years. At Mt Cattlin, Roger also brough about many optimisation modifications.

Huy Nguyen as Engineering Manager
LU7 has hired Mr Huy Nguyen to act as its new engineering client representative. Prior to this, he was working at Mintrex, the lead engineering firm involved in the design and construction of the Mt Cattlin Spodumene Plant. He supervised construction activities at Mt Cattlin when it was initiated.

By qualification, he is a Mechanical Engineer with experience of more than 15 years in engineering and project related work of construction, mineral processing, and mining.

John Loxton as Head of Lithium Carbonate Refinery
Mr John Loxton entered the world of lithium in the year 2010, with his first experience at the Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate Plant EPCM for Galaxy Resources in China. At GXY, he served the role at a Sponsor level, and later as the Project Manager, taking care of the last phases of construction and commissioning.

John took over as the Head of Projects at Tianqi Lithium in 2019 to execute investment in a Kwinana-based lithium hydroxide processing plant in Western Australia.

John was responsible to get the first train commissioned, achieving first product in 2021, managing execution planning and building a project team for the second train in the following year.

In total, John owns experience of more than 45 years as a project manager for a wide range of subjects, including energy, process, civil, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
