King River Resources Ltd (ASX:KRR) has released results from its 2024 drilling program at Langrenus and Providence.
The latest geochemical assays reveal significant anomalies, including up to 0.2g/t Au, 0.91% Cu, 34g/t Ag, 65ppm Bi, 93ppm Sb, 206ppm As, and 178ppm Co. These anomalies are linked to newly discovered ironstone formations, alteration zones, and structural features.
Drilling has now moved to the Kurundi Regional project, with assay results from the Kurundi main prospect still pending.
Promising Geochemical Results at Langrenus
Langrenus, located within the Mauretania-Hopeful Star trend, is only 700m from a historical mining site and 1km along strike from the Mauretania prospect. At Mauretania, Emmerson Resources reported a diamond drill result of 20 metres at 38.5g/t Au, associated with copper, silver, bismuth, cobalt, and antimony.
Initial drilling at Langrenus, comprising 15 RC holes totalling 2,262 metres, has revealed significant geochemical anomalies and gold findings:
-up to 0.2g/t Au, 53ppm Bi, 206ppm As, 93ppm Sb, 178ppm Co, and 3.8ppm Ag, associated with a broad quartz hematite structure.
-additionally, significant copper (0.79% Cu), bismuth (48ppm Bi), and silver (34ppm Ag) were identified in strongly iron-altered siltstones located 100 metres north of the quartz hematite breccia (TTRC072).
As per the company, these new geochemically anomalous results are very promising, providing KRR with a strong structural target along the strike of the complex ironstone and mineralised trend that hosts Mauretania and Hopeful Star.
The company plans further work to test the orientation and extent of this new geochemically anomalous structure.
Significant geochemical anomalies from Providence
Results from the phase 2 RC drilling at Providence have been received, covering five RC holes for a total of 678 metres. This follow-up program was designed to explore structures and geochemical anomalies identified in KRR's 2023 drilling and to inform deeper exploration targeting stronger gravity anomalies and structural intersections.
According to the company, the recent anomalous gold, bismuth, and copper results at Providence are highly promising.
Plans are underway for additional work to explore the orientation and extent of these geochemically anomalous ironstone-associated structures.
Upcoming Activities
Drilling is ongoing at the Kurundi Regional project, focusing on new geophysical and structural targets. The first phase of drilling at the Kurundi main prospect, which previously returned multiple high-grade gold intersections, has been completed with assays pending. Further drilling is scheduled once Tarragans drilling concludes.
KRR anticipates identifying additional drill targets as it processes and interprets the 2023 geophysical data. Upcoming drilling targets include Kurundi Regional (Millers, Tarragans), Kuiper (Kuiper 1 and 2), and Rover East (BIF Hill East, Anomaly 5, and Explorer 42).
KRR shares last traded at AU$ 0.010 on 12 Sep 2024.
