Highlights
- Copper Metals is set to drill test five key copper-gold prospects at the Mt Isa East project.
- New geochemical sampling across the five prospects has shown encouraging copper anomalism.
- The drill testing is expected to commence in September.
ASX-listed exploration company Cooper Metals Limited (ASX: CPM) has shared an update on exploration drilling planned for the key five prospects at the Mt Isa East project.
The five copper-gold prospects are Mafic Sweats South, Brumby Ridge, Long Slot, Raven and Yarraman. They are located within 5 to 10km of one another, allowing the company to conduct initial RC drilling under a single campaign. The exploration drilling is expected to start in September.
Under the campaign, the company plans to drill test around 12 holes for 1,000 to 1,500m.
The company has completed geochemical sampling on the five Cu-Au prospects. The company highlights that the latest sampling work extends Cu-Au footprint on the five prospects.

Raven prospect - In July, ground-truthing of a Versatile Time Domain electromagnetic (VTEM) at the Raven prospect reported a Cu-Au rich gossan, which returned samples up to 26.7% Cu and 2.49g/t Au.
New geochemical sampling has extended the rock chips to ~300m along the strike in a NNW direction.
Anomalous copper and gold values (data source: company update)
Portable XRF soil sampling demonstrated anomalous copper over the strike length of 300m with mineralisation hosted within the Leichardt Volcanics on a NNW trending fault line.
Three initial drill holes are planned into the Raven prospect to examine the coincident geochemistry and VTEM anomaly.
Mafic Sweats South Prospect - The rock chip sampling over the prospect returned 12.05% Cu from the gossanous rock chips adjacent to the workings.

pXRF soil sampling showed a coherent copper in soil anomaly. Four RC holes are planned for this prospect to assess the coincident VTEM and geochemical anomalies.
Brumby Ridge Cu-Au Prospect - The Brumby Ridge prospect is around 3km from the Mafic Sweats South prospect along a regional NNW trending fault. Geological sampling over the prospect has reported rock chips of up to 5.82% Cu. Two RC holes are planned to test copper anomalism and historical workings.
Long Slot prospect - The company identified the Long Slot prospect recently during field reconnaissance. Rock chip assay results are pending for this prospect. pXRF soil sampling indicated anomalous copper in soils over a 400m strike length in two main zones.
At this prospect, three RC holes are planned.
Yarraman Cu-Au prospect - The Yarraman Cu-Au prospect is around 5.5km from the Raven prospect. pXRF soil sampling results demonstrated a copper in soil anomaly on a dolerite unit in the east. The company is planning three holes at this prospect.

Cooper Metals remains focused on continuing ground access for RC drilling, progressing Diamond drilling at King Solomon, and commencing RC drilling in September. The company plans to complete ~5,000m of RC scout drilling during 2023, to test few of many copper-gold prospects identified.
