Let us walk you through a quick briefing of major developments during the quarter.
Catalina hits pegmatites and identifies critical mineral beryl at Dundas Project
In October 2022, historical aircore drilling spoils were identified through mapping by CTN from 10 holes from the Pan Aust Exploration drilling campaign conducted in 1998. Total 3 holes contained pegmatite chips as identified after mapping.
Further, members of the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (NNTAC) conducted a cultural heritage survey over CTN’s exploration tenements in southern part of E63/2046 in October and over E63/2048 in November.
The quarter saw CTN receiving Programme of Work (PoW) approval for the project covering RAB and infill auger drilling programs.
Catalina concluded air core drilling for 105 holes in southern portion of E63/2046 and intersected pegmatites in 24 aircore holes. It is expected that the multi-element assays including Ta, Cs, Be, Li, and REEs will be received in the coming weeks.
Geological logging of air core holes was also done, during which many pegmatite intervals were recorded to have accessory minerals, such as beryl and tourmaline. A blue green mineral was intersected in drill hole 22DAC016 which has been interpreted to be aqua marine (a gem variety of beryl). However, assays are pending.
