Highlights
- Diamond drilling at the Rock Lodge Project is planned for spring 2024, following the conclusion of site works as per the AHIP (Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit).
- Necessary approvals have been secured from the NSW Resource Regulator.
- Two to three deeper angled diamond drill holes are planned below previously drilled reverse circulation (RC) holes from 2022.
- Down Hole Electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys are likely to search for off-hole conductors.
Catalina Resources Limited (ASX: CTN) is gearing up for diamond drilling at its Rock Lodge Project in the spring of 2024. The company has secured the necessary approvals for the planned exploration from the NSW Resource Regulator.
CTN has engaged a consultant archaeologist to arrange the salvage and relocation of the artifacts as per the AHIP. Following the completion of this work in coming weeks and after the rainy winter season, the company intends to drill two or three deeper angled diamond drill holes below the previously drilled RC holes, finalised in 2022.
Through the planned diamond drilling, the company eyes to collect oriented structural data, including strikes and dips of mineralised veins. The collected data will assist in planning future drill holes and calculating the true widths of mineralisation.
The company might employ DHEM surveys, which will help in searching for off-hole conductors. This is expected to represent wider massive sulphide mineralisation than those discovered during the previous RC drilling phase.
Suspension notice revoked by the regulator
CTN informed that the suspension notice issued in relation to EL 9155 in mid-2022 has been revoked by the NSW Resources Regulator. The company engaged third-party consultants to review the processes and systems and to conduct an ecological review. The outcomes and intended responses were reported to the regulator, and an AHIP was obtained.
Furthermore, the regulator notified that it is satisfied with the conclusion of the enforceable undertaking in this connection.
The company has been granted a new Assessable Prospecting Operation Application (APO 001743), which will ensure that the outcomes and suggestions from the reviews and the AHIP are considered while undertaking any further works on EL 9155.
Significant mineralisation intersected at Rock Lodge
RC drilling program completed at the Rock Lodge Prospect in April 2022 intersected significant mineralisation. The 163km2 project is prospective for Intrusion Related Gold Systems (IRGS), orogenic and skarn related gold mineralisation. The RC drilling campaign intersected multiple stacked gold and silver lenses.

The SRLRC05 hole suggested that numerous mineralised zones can be expected in future drilling programs. Intersections from SRLRC02 to SRLRCO5, combined with historical drilling, constitute a significant mineralised envelope.
CTN shares were trading at AU$0.003 apiece at the time of writing on 12 June 2024.
