BPH Energy (ASX:BPH) has provided an upbeat update on its investee company Cortical Dynamics Limited.
Cortical has been selected for a grant as one of three groundbreaking biomedical companies leveraging data and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their global competitiveness. This opportunity comes as part of a new accelerator program launching this month.
Cortical Dynamics is a neurotechnology medical device company with Brain Anaesthesia Response (BARM™) System as core product. Cortical has added AI to intellectual property originally developed at Swinburne University.
Cortical has been selected for the Biomedical AI Sprints Accelerator (BASA) grant run by prominent innovation centres, the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Hub and MTPConnect.
Professor Cori Stewart, CEO and Founder of ARM Hub, along with MTPConnect CEO Stuart Dignam, have both extended their congratulations to the companies for their achievements.
Professor Stewart said BASA will help tap valuable intelligence within their businesses. “AI and automation are estimated to increase Australia’s productivity by 50% to 150%,” Professor Stewart said. “We are already seeing lifechanging evidence of the value of AI in biomedicine with accelerated drug discovery, precision medicine, and enhanced diagnostics,” Stewart added.
