On Monday, 18 February 2019, Core Lithium Ltd (ASX:CXO) announced the fundamental managerial changes with the view to strengthening its development plan for 100% owned Finnis Lithium Project located near Darwin in the Northern Territory.
The major highlight includes the appointment of Simon Lacopetta as the Chief Financial Officer of the company, filling the position of successor Erik Palmbachs who passed away in November 2018. Mr Lacopetta will reportedly join the office to the role of the companyâs new CFO in the first week of March 2019.
He brings in 15-year of experience after having served in similar roles throughout his career including Australian gold developer and miner, Ramelius Resources.
Mr Lacopetta stated that he has joined in the most crucial time of the company and is looking forward to work with the management as the company strives to deliver the first production from Finnis Lithium Project by the end of the year.
To advance its development plan for Finnis, the company enlisted industry veteran Noel OâBrien for the role of Metallurgical Consultant.
With over 30 years of experience in Australia and Africa, Mr OâBrien possesses the specialization in providing metallurgical consulting services and project development over a variety of commodities. And since 2012, Mr OâBrien reportedly developed the inclination in lithium space, thereby having worked on significant lithium projects Kidman Resources/SQMâs equally-owned Mt Holland project, Kidman Resources/SQMâs equally-owned Mt Holland project, Pilbara Mineralsâ Pilgangoora mine and Galaxy Resourcesâ Mt Cattlin and James Bay projects.
Among the Coreâs management restructuring plan, another critical recruitment includes Sean Buxton to the role of Project Manager for the Finniss Project. Mr Buxton is an experienced senior mine development engineer specializing in operations and general management in both open pit and underground mines, with a demonstrated history of working in the mining industry.
Commenting on the appointments, Coreâs Managing Director, Stephen Biggins, said the Company was readying its workforce for an aggressive and transformative year ahead. He added Simon, Sean, Noel, Workplace Partners would play a key role both in the delivery of the Finniss Lithium Project and the business once the project advances beyond the first production.
The company has also engaged Adelaide-based consultancy Workplace Partners to develop and implement human resources, industrial relations and work, health and safety systems for the Finniss Project.
Core plans to deliver the Definitive Feasibility by the end of next month and with full regulatory approvals and project financing anticipated in the following quarter. Moreover, the first production at the Finniss Project is reportedly on-track for the end of 2019.
Core Lithium Ltd, formerly known as Core Exploration Limited, recently selected its preferred EPC contractor for Finniss Lithium Project. In the same announcement, the company also declared its mining services and logistics partner.
In todayâs trading session, Coreâs stock price declined by 1.786% to trade at $0.055 on 18 February 2019 (1:44 PM AEST). The stock has fallen by 16.42% till date this year, despite the positive price change of 3.70% in the past three months.
