  • The project is located in a mineral-rich region with copper and gold deposits.

  • Historical exploration data indicates multiple mineralized zones.

Helix Resources Ltd (ASX:HLX) has entered into agreements to acquire the White Hills copper-gold project in Arizona, a site spanning multiple tenements. The project is located in a region recognized for significant mineral deposits and is part of a geological belt associated with both porphyry and iron-oxide copper-gold systems. The acquisition extends Helix’s exploration footprint into North America.

Geological Overview
The White Hills project is positioned within a known mineral belt that has been associated with substantial copper and gold resources. The region hosts geological features that are characteristic of significant mineralization, including intersecting mineral trends and historical exploration indicators.

Previous exploration efforts involved extensive soil and rock chip sampling, as well as geophysical surveys. These studies identified an area of anomalous mineralization spanning a considerable distance, highlighting the presence of copper and gold-bearing formations. In addition to field sampling, airborne and ground-based geophysical assessments have provided further insights into the subsurface structure.

Exploration and Historical Data
The project has undergone multiple phases of exploration, which have included the collection of thousands of soil and rock chip samples. These results indicate the presence of mineralized zones with noteworthy concentrations of copper and gold. Additionally, airborne geophysical surveys such as magnetics, radiometrics, and hyperspectral imaging have been conducted, further refining target areas for detailed investigation.

Previous drilling at White Hills consisted of multiple drill holes focused on identifying gold-bearing structures. However, copper-rich zones were not extensively analyzed at the time, leaving further exploration opportunities open for assessment. The presence of multiple mineralized zones suggests that systematic exploration efforts could provide additional insights into the geological framework of the region.

Acquisition Details
Helix Resources has secured the project from two vendors, Centric Minerals Management Inc and White Hills Exploration LLC. The acquisition involves a structured payment and share issuance arrangement. The transaction includes payments for claim fees, a capital raising component, and an issuance of company shares. A key element of the agreement involves a farm-in arrangement with Newmont Corporation, under which specific exploration spending commitments must be met.

The agreement outlines staged spending commitments on mining sublease claims, along with defined milestones for feasibility studies. Additionally, the arrangement includes a royalty component, with a percentage-based net smelter return from future production. If the project advances to further studies, Newmont Corporation retains an option to participate in a joint venture structure.

Infrastructure and Location
The White Hills project benefits from access to existing infrastructure, including roadways and nearby processing facilities. The site is located within a short distance of established mining operations, providing logistical advantages for exploration activities. Additionally, the region's established mining framework supports future operational development.

Helix Resources' expansion into this jurisdiction aligns with its broader exploration strategy, which focuses on mineral-rich belts with established geological significance. The company aims to conduct further assessments to advance understanding of the mineralization present at White Hills.

This acquisition positions Helix within a region known for its copper and gold production, enhancing its presence within the Mining Stocks sector. As exploration activities progress, further geological studies will provide additional insights into the project’s potential resource base.
