Highlights

  • Belararox identifies significant copper mineralization at the TMT project in Argentina.

  • Drilling at Tambo South reveals extensive copper sulfides, reinforcing the presence of a porphyry system.

  • Upcoming assay results expected to provide further clarity on the mineralization scale.

Mining Stock Belararox (ASX:BRX) has reported the presence of extensive copper mineralization at its Toro-Malambo-Tambo (TMT) project in Argentina. The announcement has led to a sharp increase in the company's share value. Drilling at the Tambo South prospect has identified hundreds of meters of continuous copper sulfides within the second drill hole. This hole has currently reached a depth exceeding seven hundred meters, with laboratory assays pending for further validation.

Indicators of a Porphyry System

The TMT project is located in an area between the El Indio and Maricunga Metallogenic Belts. The geological characteristics observed at three of the twelve identified targets suggest the presence of a porphyry system. Jason Ward, the exploration director, stated that the geological model of Tambo South is consistent with a copper porphyry system, further influenced by high sulfidation mineralization. This interpretation aligns with observations from drill cores that show alteration patterns and mineralized zones typically associated with large-scale copper deposits.

Geographical Advantage and Ongoing Exploration

The TMT project is positioned south of prominent mining areas such as Filo Del Sol and Josemaria, which have attracted significant development initiatives. The legislative environment in Argentina has recently undergone changes aimed at encouraging foreign investment in the mining sector. Drilling activities at Tambo South are ongoing, with additional assay results anticipated soon. The Malambo target, another area within the project, has also yielded promising visual indications, including molybdenite mineralization in completed drill cores.

Next Steps in Exploration

Exploration efforts remain focused on deepening the understanding of mineralization across the TMT project. The drilling campaign is expected to continue with further evaluations of key targets. Assay results from the current drill holes will provide critical insights into the grade and extent of the copper mineralization. The presence of visible copper sulfides and molybdenite supports continued geological assessments as Belararox advances its exploration strategy at the site.
