RC Drilling Confirms Down-Dip Continuity but Highlights Erratic Mineralisation at Mount Ida Gold Project
During February and March 2026, Juno Minerals conducted a first-pass RC drilling program at the Mount Ida Gold Project (M29/414-I), comprising 40 holes totaling 1,450 metres. Managed by BM Geological Services, the program aimed to test the down-dip extension of mineralised quartz lodes previously identified in November and December 2025 sampling. Hole depths ranged from 15 to 72 metres, with most successfully intersecting the target horizon.
The drilling confirmed down-dip continuity of the mineralised quartz vein (QV1), dipping moderately east to east-northeast. However, geological interpretation revealed significant pinching and swelling of the lode, indicating erratic mineralisation. Higher-grade gold intercepts were concentrated within approximately 150 metres strike length in the northeastern section of QV1.
Notable Gold Intercepts Achieved in RC Drilling Campaign
The Mount Ida RC drilling returned multiple significant gold intercepts at a 0.80 g/t Au cut-off. Hole 26MIRC034 recorded 3 metres at 3.14 g/t Au from 30 metres, including a peak 1 metre at 7.94 g/t Au. Other key intercepts included 1 metre at 3.08 g/t Au from 7 metres in hole 26MIRC036, 1 metre at 3.50 g/t Au from 30 metres in hole 26MIRC008, as well as intercepts of 1 metre at 1.30 g/t Au and 2 metres at 1.41 g/t Au in holes 26MIRC008 and 26MIRC009 respectively. Hole 26MIRC006 also returned 1 metre at 2.00 g/t Au from 30 metres.
Despite these promising results, a geological review considering intercept distribution, mineralised zone limitations, and soil anomaly data led to the decision against further infill drilling at this stage.
Juno Minerals Halts Further Exploration at Mount Ida Gold Prospect
Following comprehensive geological evaluation, Juno Minerals announced no additional exploration will be conducted at the Mount Ida Gold Prospect currently. While down-dip mineralisation continuity and significant gold intercepts were confirmed, the erratic nature and confined strike length of the highest-grade zone influenced the decision to discontinue further expenditure on this prospect.
This strategic shift allows Juno to concentrate resources on its core magnetite development and other business opportunities, marking a transition in its Mount Ida area activities.
Mount Mason DSO Hematite Project Sale Yields A$6 Million with Delayed Haul Road Construction
In June 2025, Juno Minerals sold the Mount Mason DSO Hematite Project tenements to Gold Valley Yilgarn Pty Ltd (GVY) for A$6 million, split between a A$3 million deposit at signing and a further A$3 million upon tenement transfer completion on 6 October 2025. Juno also retained a 2% FOB revenue royalty on iron ore production from the project.
GVY has since delayed construction of the 27-kilometre haul road and DSO mining operation to early or mid-2027, citing the need for additional logistics arrangements. The haulage route will integrate with GVY's Wiluna area operations and supply chain to the Port of Esperance. Selling to an established producer with existing infrastructure offers Juno a pathway to returns despite the revised timeline.
Mount Ida Magnetite Project Remains Juno's Strategic Core Asset with 1.85 Billion Tonnes Resource
Juno's key asset, the Mount Ida Magnetite Project, sits on a granted mining lease and contains 1.85 billion tonnes at 29.48% Fe, making it the largest magnetite resource in the Yilgarn region. The project is positioned as a long-life magnetite mining operation and is central to Juno's value creation strategy. The company is actively seeking a substantial joint venture partner with the financial and technical capacity to complete feasibility studies and advance development.
The Mount Mason project sale is expected to indirectly benefit Mount Ida through infrastructure improvements, including the haul road construction and expansion of Cassini Village support facilities. Proximity to neighbouring projects like Hancock Prospecting and Legacy Iron Ore's Mount Bevan Magnetite Project, currently in feasibility, further validates the region's magnetite potential.
Metallurgical Review Confirms Current Processing Approach Adequate for Mount Ida Magnetite
Juno Minerals commissioned Sedgeman Onyx to review past metallurgical test work and the proposed processing flowsheet for Mount Ida. The review assessed potential gaps and evaluated the beneficiation approach against modern industry standards and technologies.
The assessment concluded that while further work is possible, no significant processing improvements justify additional expenditure now. This allows Juno to focus on securing a JV partner for project advancement. The magnetite concentrate's high-grade, consistent quality aligns with the growing green steel demand, underscoring Mount Ida's strategic importance.
Active Due Diligence Underway on Two Gold Projects as Part of Business Development Strategy
Following the Mount Mason sale and the capital needs for Mount Ida Magnetite, Juno Minerals has adopted a structured business development approach to identify new acquisition opportunities. Over the past 18 months, due diligence has been conducted on multiple projects, including four gold, one copper, and one copper-gold project, though none met investment criteria to proceed.
Currently, Juno is actively conducting detailed due diligence on two gold projects, maintaining an active pipeline to complement its asset base and support growth aligned with its strategic goals.
Mount Ida Lithium Prospect Evaluation Finds No Significant Lithium Mineralisation
