Rio Tinto First Quarter Iron ore Production Up By 2 per Cent Against PCP

Rio Tinto Limited (ASX:RIO) first-quarter Pilbara iron ore shipment surged by 5 per cent against the previous corresponding period to stand at 72.9 million tonnes; however, remained 16 per cent down against the last quarter of the year 2019.

  • The iron ore production rose by 2 per cent against pcp but declined by 7 per cent against the last quarter.
  • The bauxite production for the period soared by 8 per cent against pcp, but down by 9 per cent as compared to the previous quarter.
  • Majority of other products such as aluminium, copper, took a toll and declined against both pcp and the previous quarter.
