Retail Turnover Falls 0.5% In December 2019

As per the latest data released by ABS regarding Australia’s retail trade for December 2019, Australia’s retail turnover has declined by 0.5% following a growth of 1% in November 2019.

It was also impacted by bushfires and related smoke haze evident in New South Wales data. Among the negatively aeffected ones were the food retailing and cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services.

During the same time, the contribution of the online retail turnover was 6.6 per cent to total retail turnover in original terms.
