ASIC has permanently banned Mr Anthony Tony David Wynd, who was the sole director and responsible manager of Financial Circle Pty Ltd, from providing financial services due to his misconduct. Some highlights of Mr Wynd’s case are:
- The Federal Court has ordered to pay $8,980,000 in total penalties due to violation of financial services, credit and consumer protection laws.
- The permanent ban took effect from 13 August 2019 which led him to apply to Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) to review the decision of ASIC and to put a stay order on ASIC’s decision and media release of the same.
- Mr Wynd withdrew his application to AAT for the review of ASIC’s decision on 13 May.
