Today, the Australian stock market rebounded and ended at 6094.5, up by 0.32 per cent as compared to yesterday's closure of 6075.1. The market remained positive amid a grim situation due to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in Australia. Yesterday, Victoria state reported 484 new cases. The situation has paralysed the Prime Minister's plan of the phase-wise reopening of the economy.

In the US stock market, Nasdaq Composite was up by 0.24 per cent; Dow Industrials gained by 0.62 per cent, and the S&P 500 was up by 0.57 per cent.

The stocks that performed the best today are:

  • NRW Holdings Limited (ASX:NWH), which traded at AUD825 and was up by 8.631 per cent.
  • Coca-Cola Amatil Limited (ASX:CCLwhich traded at AUD 8.970 and was up by 5.405 per cent.

The weak performing stocks in today's market are:

  • Nearmap Ltd (ASX:NEA), which traded at AUD 2.400 was down by 3.614 per cent; and
  • Magellan Financial Group Limited (ASX:MFG), whichtraded at AUD 60.540 down by 2.903 per cent.
