Mineral exploration company, Lithium Australia NL (ASX:LIT) aspiring to build a circular battery economy and engaged in extracting, acquiring, recovering and developing lithium deposits, has announced that the second-generation LieNA® development patent application (PCT/AU2019/050773) has now been reviewed by the International Examining Authority for its patentability. The application is now into the National Phase assessment in jurisdictions whereby LIT would seek legal protection.
The first standard patent for LieNA® was granted in early April 2020, which provided LIT with long-term protection and control over the invention for up to 20 years.
