King River Resources Limited (ASX: KRR) has provided a Prefeasibility Study update on its 100% owned Speewah Specialty Metals (SSM) Project.
Development in its refining process has resulted in the precipitation of Aluminium as an intermediate product from High Purity Alumina (HPA) having 99.98% grade.
In the coming weeks, the testwork will check the capability of the new HPA process in the extraction of Alumina from the waste fraction produced at the concentrate phase of the process.
The grade of Aluminium in the ROM material is 12.7% Al2O3. The magnetic concentrates has ~ 7% Al2O3 and non-magnetic waste fraction has grades in between 15 to 16% Al2O3.
Waste fraction is expected to mostly free from Iron, Titanium and Vanadium that consumes acid during the process of leaching.
Around 50% of the iron removed is expected to facilitate the solvent extraction of vanadium and titanium.
