CIMIC Group Limited’s (ASX:CIM) mining services arm, Thiess announced that it has been awarded a mining contracting contract for the Jellinbah Group’s Lake Vermont operations. The contract is valued at $2.5 billion towards extension of mining and auxiliary services for a 5-year term.
The contract includes mining planning, coal mining, pre-stripping and waste removal, drilling and blasting services, water management and site rehabilitation services. The contractor would be required to operate and maintain the coal handling and preparation plant as well as semi and fully autonomous drilling and excavation processes.
