Chinaâs top copper smelters raised the floor treatment charge (or TC) by 20 per cent for the fourth quarter of the year 2019.
- The floor TC set by the top smelters in China stood at USD 66 per metric tonnes, up by USD 11 metric tonnes against the TC in the third quarter of the year 2019.
- The floor charges are the minimum amount that is paid by miners to smelters to deal with the copper concentrate and process it into refined metal.
- China Smelters Purchase Team (CSPT) in Shanghai finalised the price post a quarterly meeting.
