Australia’s Retail Turnover Jumps by 0.9% in November 2019

Australia’s seasonally adjusted retail turnover surged by 0.9 per cent in November 2019, reported the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) in a recent update. The increase in November follows the gains of 0.1 per cent observed in October 2019.

The ABS also provided the following details related to retail turnover:

  • Strong growth in Black Friday sales drove the rise in retail turnover.
  • All the states saw an increase in retail turnover, except the Northern Territory, where seasonally adjusted sales plunged by 0.2 per cent in in November 2019.
