ANZ Remains Well Capitalised to meet RBNZ Capital Norms

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ASX: ANZ) has reported on the impact of Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) final capital requirements.

  • Net impact is an increase in CET1 capital of $3 billion by July 2027.
  • No change in tier 1 capital for ANZ New Zealand at 16 per cent, but transition period is longer at seven years.
  • A greater increase in Additional Tier 1 (AT1) capital at 2.5 per cent against initial proposal of 1.5 per cent.

CEO Shayne Elliott stated that ANZ does not need to raise additional capital to fund capital requirements.

ANZ was trading higher by 2.5 per cent at $24.81 as at 01:36 PM AEST.
