ACCC has pointed out ~20,000 vehicles fitted with potentially deadly airbags on the roads. Over 8,000 vehicles are so risky and should be not be driven as per the recent statistics of ACCC on the necessary recall of Takata airbags.
ACCC has urged Motorists to check if their vehicles are fitted with these recalled Takata airbags as the car dealerships are still operating & offering replacement airbags free of cost.
ACCC has also asked the drivers to verify online or with their dealer or manufacturer whether their vehicle is subjected to mandatory recall or the voluntary recall of Takata NADI airbags.
