Jayden Campbell believes fullback may not be his best position in the NRL and he looks forward to continuing developing versatility, having signed a contract extension with Gold Coast.

Campbell has been largely restricted to bench appearances this NRL season to accommodate AJ Brimson's switch back to fullback and Kieran Foran's arrival, but the new two-year deal indicates he can see a long-term future for himself at the Titans.

The club had already secured Campbell through to the end of 2024 but the new contract reaffirms their belief in the 23-year-old as a pivotal player of the future.

"I've always wanted to be a Titan and I've always wanted to be a one-club person as well," Campbell said.

"The Titans have done a lot for me and my family, and I'd like to do the same for them.

"Hopefully that's with bringing success here and winning premierships."

Campbell, the son of Titans foundation player Preston, has played all 30 games of his career to date with Gold Coast.

He is set for more chances as their fullback while Brimson recovers from a hamstring injury over the coming weeks, starting with this weekend's clash against Newcastle.

But Campbell insists he is happy to continue biding his time on the bench once Brimson recovers with the view to discovering what his best role is within the team.

"That's what this year's about, just learning different roles," he said.

"You never know, fullback's probably not my best position. We could go somewhere else and I might be even better there."

The fullback had been linked with a possible move to Parramatta, whose coach Brad Arthur had been keen to explore the possibility of bringing on an "X-Factor" player to share fullback duties with Clint Gutherson.

Campbell would have been free to negotiate with rival clubs for 2025 from November 1 but said a move was never on the cards.

"I know there was a bit of outside noise saying I was going to other places but for me, Gold Coast is home," he said.

"I wasn't really fazed about it (the speculation)."

Campbell joins Brimson, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, David Fifita, Beau Fermor, Keano Kini and Alofiana Khan-Pereira in recommitting to the Titans through 2026.
