Kisnorbo's Troyes relegated from France's Ligue 1

Australian Patrick Kisnorbo has vowed to turn to young players and attempt to put in the building blocks to return to Ligue 1 after Troyes were relegated from France's top flight.

Troyes became the third side relegated along with Ajaccio and last-placed Angers, with one team still to join them, after suffering a 4-0 rout from Rennes on Sunday.

It rounded out a miserable start to former Socceroos defender Kisnorbo's coaching career in Europe, where he has struggled to get the City Football Group-owned Troyes to fire, earning just one league win.

The former Melbourne City boss appears to have the backing to continue with his charges and wanted to use the final three games of the season to build.

"We want to finish as well as we can and also maybe bring one or two young players in because they've been really good in training and bring the future of the club through the last games," he said.

"Our objective is to play as best as we can, finish as best as we can and try and bring some local talent through within the club.

"We want to play our best team possible but also thinking of next season as well and how we want to do it. 

"We just have to concentrate now and next season I'll tell you about next season."

City midfielder Aiden O'Neill has been heavily linked to a reunion with Kisnorbo at Troyes next season.

Kisnorbo said pre-season would start July 1 and he would have his team in early to prepare for next season.

He had welcomed the challenge of a relegation battle when he joined Troyes in December, when the club sat 13th and one point above the drop zone.

There was clear frustration again after Sunday's capitulation.

Troyes' remaining three games are at home to Strasbourg, away to last-placed Angers and away to Lille.

Elsewhere, Socceroos midfielder Denis Genreau's Toulouse have secured their place in Ligue 1 for next season after a 0-0 draw with Nantes.

Genreau played 68 minutes in his fifth start of the season.
