When the coronavirus pandemic hit, several researchers had predicted that this virus is going to stay with us for a couple of years at least. However, the general public was optimistic and with the efficient rollout of vaccines, everybody thought that normal life would revive soon. However, with the emergence of new variants, recovery to the pre-pandemic life seems like a far-fetched dream as of yet.

The world was counting days to move ahead as the gruesome effects of the Delta variant were settling down; however the new variant: Omicron threw spanner in the works. As the Christmas season arrived, the Omicron cases worldwide picked up high steam.

The US, several European and Eastern countries are now grinding under the effects of rising cases due to the spread of the Omicron variant. If the virus were to be deadly, the transmission rate would be lesser and vice versa, but until enough data is revealed, it is difficult to predict anything.

Thus, it is expected that the work from home scenario will continue. Life has become sort of stagnant, under prolonged work from home scenario many people are becoming lethargic and life has become monotonous.

  • Never work in a lazy environment: For working enthusiastically, one needs to have a positive environment. Thus, if you think your environment is inducing laziness in your routine, change it immediately. Be conscious of the good and bad factors affecting your work-life at home.
  • Perhaps an outdoor work setup might work for you: If you work in some creative field, it is essential for you to get new ideas and for that working in an enclosed set up all the time might not be helpful. Thus, for a change you can try setting up your workstation in your balcony, terrace or somewhere so you can see the sky and feel the air.
  • Don’t extend work for infinite hours: It has almost been two years since the work from home culture began and it has been observed that people now extend their work in the non-working hours too. This is a significant issue; one should take efficient breaks from work for a stable mental and emotional health.
  • Add plants and decorative stuff on your workstation: Working from home can get mundane. Thus, to fight back the monotony, one needs to feel fresh and warm. Adding indoor plants to your workstation will be a good start towards building a warm and comfortable working space.
