National Australia Bank (ASX: NAB) on 11 September 2019, revised its take on the cash rate, incorporating an additional rate cut in February 2020, taking the cash rate to 0.5%. However, the Bank is also expecting the next cut to be in November 2019 or as early as October 2019 if further weakness is observed in the labour market.
- The lower interest rates forecast reflect a rise in downside risks to the domestic economy while the world economic outlook is also bleak;
- With US-China Trade war escalation, reducing business confidence lading to deferred investments, global Central banks are responding with easier policy.
