Auris Minerals Limited Completed RC Drilling At Wodger And Forrest Prospects

On 24 December 2018, Base metals exploration company Auris Minerals Limited (ASX: AUR) provided an update on exploration activities within the Bryah Basin of Western Australia. As per the update, the company has completed the latest Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling at the Wodger and Forrest Prospects and it will report assay results as soon as they are available to the company.

As a part of its RC drilling programme, the company targeted various open-ended zones of high-grade mineralization in order to prove geological and grade continuity within and between sections. Further, the RC drilling programme was also conducted to confirm the dip and plunge of mineralization at the Wodger and Forrest Prospects. [optin-monster-shortcode id=”swikrbu1d9j9aq0o4cko”]

At Wodger and Forrest prospects, the company drilled a total of seventeen holes for a total of 3,924m which was less than the planned 4,500m due to drilling direction challenges at Forrest.  All planned holes at Wodger prospects were completed successfully, except one hole (WDRC020) which was stopped short of the EM anomaly target because of drilling difficulties with water ingress. As per the update, the geological interpretation of the Forrest prospect is similar to the Wodger prospects, however, at Forrest, it is evident that the host sequence is folded.

Various holes at the Forrest prospect experienced extreme deviation due to which the drilling at the Forrest prospect became difficult. Two holes (FPRC026 & FPRC028) at the Forrest prospect were abandoned as they were going to miss their targets. One more hole (FPRC030) which had been set up by the company to account for an expected deviation was also abandoned as it was drilled straight. To complete the programme before the Christmas break and to review the holes for better understanding the drilling issues, the company did not drill three planned holes.

The company is currently reviewing the geology of both the prospects. Further, the company is planning to use the available date from the RC drilling programme for all the new integrated geological interpretations. Apart from new the new detailed interpretations of geophysics, the geological interpretation of both the prospects (Wodger and Forrest) will also include relogged geology and associated geochemistry from historical drilling.

In the last six months, the share price of the company decreased by 42.86 percent as on 17 December 2018. AUR’s shares last traded at $0.040 with a market capitalization of circa $16.35 million.
