Climeworks opened its new plant in Orca, Iceland, on September 8, 2021. It is a direct air capture and storage plant. Royal Dutch Shell announced in July this year to build a large carbon capture and storage project near Edmonton, Alberta. It aims to become net-zero emission by 2050.
