[Nvidia Corporation building in Taipei, Taiwan.] BING-JHEN HONG Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) reclaimed the crown of the world's most valuable company on Tuesday, as a 2.8% gain for the Jensen Huang-led semiconductor firm helped it surpass Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/MSFT]). Nvidia ended the session with a market cap of $3.446T, compared to Microsoft, which ended the day worth $3.441T. It’s not the first time Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/NVDA]) has snatched the top spot in terms of market valuation. It did so in November 2024, when it took [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4252106-nvidia-retakes-worlds-most-valuable-company-title-from-apple-as-market-cap-climbs] the crown away from Apple (AAPL [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/AAPL]) and in June 2024, when it topped both Microsoft and Apple. Demand for anything related to artificial intelligence has resulted in Nvidia's revenue surging over the past couple of years, as its GPUs are central to powering data centers across the world and the rise of generative artificial intelligence.

Shares of the chipmaker have surged nearly 1,500% over the past five years, including a 22% gain over the past 12 months. Nvidia reported first-quarter results last month that topped [https://seekingalpha.com/news/4452984-nvidia-pops-as-q1-results-guidance-top-expectations-despite-china-controls] Wall Street's expectations, even when factoring in a ban of its H20 GPUs in China. Looking to the second-quarter of fiscal 2026, Nvidia expects to generate $45B in revenue, plus or minus 2%. This includes a loss of approximately $8B in H20-related revenue. Analysts were forecasting $45.92B in revenue prior to the release.
