This strategic alliance is going to be a game-changer in the AV segment and prove a major milestone for both the companies to address a critical need in the AV ecosystem. While Guident is into patented artificial intelligence solutions for AVs and drones, including valet systems. It also deals into remote monitoring and control and connected vehicle data sharing for active safety as well in concierge services. Bestmile, since its launch in 2014 has pioneered the operations of autonomous vehicles into real-life mobility solutions, its fleet Orchestration Platform allows mobility providers to deploy, manage and optimise autonomous and conventional vehicle fleets.
A Perfect Combination to Capture the Growing AV Market
The two tech partners will be focusing on several areas for collaboration in Europe and North America with this alliance. It will also include providing Guident’s patented, advanced teleoperation for AV as well and human-driven vehicles to enhance customer safety and security. In addition to a reliable, low latency connection to any advanced mobile network solution.
The strategic alliance is a perfect combination of two innovation-driven companies to capture the rapidly growing AV market, which as per the latest Allied Market Research, is expected to reach $556 billion by 2026 with a CAGR of 39 per cent. The alliance would result into the successful integration and application of Guident’s advanced teleoperation and control system for autonomous vehicles with the Fleet Orchestration Platform of Bestmile, which allows operators to support multi-service offerings in a safe and efficient manner by integrating new mobility services in the existing transportation ecosystem, presently being used on a regular basis across the globe in shared autonomous and conventional fleets in pedestrian areas and on public roads.
There is a huge requirement of contactless delivery due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and as per the Guident’s assumptions, the increased demand will hasten the roll-out of land-based delivery drones for food and medicines to improve their availability and reduce the costs of these deliveries. As per the estimates, the drone logistics and transportation market are expected to reach US$ 29 billion by 2027. It is estimated that around 9.5 billion world population with a concentration in global cities would be driving the transformation to AV by 2030.
Guident’s teleoperation system is designed to integrate within smart cities to improve the safety and performance of transportation in the smart city environment. With the help of its application platform, the autonomous vehicle will be capable of reporting an accident, can request aid, and can be remotely relocated out of harm’s way. Now the collaboration with Bestmile would address a critical need in the AV ecosystem, with the two companies complementing each other in integrating Guident’s advanced teleoperation and control system for AVs with Bestmile’s Fleet Orchestration Platform.
Guident Ltd is wholly owned by Tekcapital Plc, a public limited company registered in England and Wales.
