Journeo plc (AIM:JNEO), a provider of information systems and technical services for public transport operators and authorities, has announced new purchase orders valued at approximately £1 million (around AUD 1.9 million). The contracts include projects for a large local authority in southern England as well as new airport transport systems in the UK and Ireland.
The orders are part of the authority’s Bus Service Improvement Plan and focus on the installation, maintenance, and integration of passenger information infrastructure. Journeo’s solutions are designed to improve accessibility, deliver real-time information, and support local authorities in enhancing the public transport experience.
Expansion of Passenger Information Displays
The local authority order covers the supply of Journeo’s high-definition TFT passenger information displays, which will expand the region’s real-time passenger information network. These displays are designed to deliver up-to-date information on bus services and improve the accessibility of public transport systems.
To further support passengers with limited vision, push-button audio systems will also be installed, enabling access to essential travel details in an inclusive manner. Additionally, interactive totem technology will be deployed at key decision-points across the transport network. These totems will provide the public with live updates on transport schedules, as well as information on local events and points of interest to assist in journey planning.
Growth in Airport Solutions
Alongside the local authority orders, Journeo has also received contracts for the deployment of its fully integrated airport transfer and real-time information systems. The technology will be implemented at Leeds Bradford Airport in the UK and Dublin Airport in Ireland.
These new additions bring the total number of airports using Journeo’s systems to eight across the UK and Ireland, with more than 450 buses and airport vehicles now connected and transmitting live data through the Journeo Portal.
Journeo’s airport solutions have evolved significantly since the company’s first project at Gatwick Airport in 2017. Its technology supports operational efficiency through detailed passenger flow analysis and enhances the passenger experience by delivering accurate, real-time journey information.
