The UK economy expanded in the second quarter of 2021. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew at 5.5%, well above the market estimate of 4.8% as per the data published by the Office for National Statistics.

GDP numbers bounced back following a contraction (-1.4%) in the previous quarter, primarily due to a rise in household consumption following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions during the quarters.

After the GDP data announcement, the blue-chip index FTSE100, which constitute the top 100 companies by market cap, was trading in positive territory.

The software company’s stock was down by over 31% following the successful placing of ordinary shares to raise £8.85 million. A total of 35,400,000 new ordinary shares will be issued at a price of 25p per share under the capital raising. The company plans to use the placing funds to strengthen its balance sheet by debt restructuring and increases its investment in Cloud Telephony which has received strong demand from its clients.

Loopup Group Plc currently trades at GBX 25.25, down by 31.76% on 30 September 2021 at 11:30 am GMT+1 with a market cap of £20.51 million.

Plus500 Ltd (LON: PLUS)

The company offers an online trading platform for individuals and customers. The trading platform allows clients to trade in various financial instruments like equities, commodities, and options.

The company operates in the niche segment of multi-asset fintech business which continues to deliver high organic growth. Also, the company is spreading out through inorganic growth like the acquisition of businesses from the same sector. During the six months ended 30 June 2021, the company reported 333,940 active customers, a rise of 2% compared to the same period last year. The reported revenue was at USD 346.2 million, while its EBITDA stood at USD 187.6 million.

Also, the company entered into retail futures market in the US through the acquisition of Cunningham Commodities LLC in July 2021.

Plus500 Ltd currently trades at GBX 1,397, up by 0.07% on 30 September 2021 at 11:30 am GMT+1 with a market cap of £1,409 million.

Mobile Streams Plc (LON:MOS)

The company offers mobile content and data intelligence services across Europe, Asia-pacific and North American.

The company reported significant improvement in subscription of its LiveScores services in Mexico. In September 2021, over 7,200 subscribers signed up for service, a rise of over 251% as per the company’s internal target.

As a result of good performance, the company will be launching similar services in Argentina from 1 October 2021. Also, the company is in advance discussion regarding starting its services in other markets in the coming months.

Mobile Streams Plc currently trades at GBX 0.67, up by 6.35% on 30 September 2021 at 11:30 am GMT+1 with a market cap of £14.83 million.
